The SPTX-EP200 Digital Epilepsy Monitor detects movement patterns associated with tonic-clonic seizures while a person is in bed. Its built-in POCSAG transmitter sends alerts directly to a compatible pager, helping carers respond quickly wherever they are on site.
The SPTX-EP200 Digital Epilepsy Monitor provides discreet, continuous monitoring for people who experience tonic-clonic, or “grand mal”, seizures while sleeping. Two sensor pads positioned beneath the mattress detect movement, while a sophisticated digital microprocessor analyses the information and raises an alert when seizure activity is identified.
Six user-selectable sensitivity levels allow the monitor to be adjusted according to the user’s weight, mattress type and the nature of their seizures. The chosen sensitivity level is clearly shown using the unit’s LED display.
A built-in POCSAG transmitter sends alerts directly to a compatible pager, allowing carers to remain mobile while receiving prompt notification of a detected seizure. The monitor also provides a voltage-free, normally open output for connection to a compatible nurse call system. Please note that the unit does not include an onboard audible alarm.
